Public transportation in Rome – How to use Buses, Metro, Tram.

Even though Rome is a very large city , it has only three subway lines: Line A (red line), Line B – B1 ( blue line) and Line C (green line), and many bus lines that cover the metro area.
Subway lines run from 5.30 AM to 11.30 PM Only on Friday and Saturday subway closes at 1.30 AM Buses, Trams and Trolleys run from 5.30 AM to 11.30 PM.
Past midnight night buses ( N line ex. N2 , N8 ) run until 5.30AM.
Tickets can be purchased in the train station, subway stations, Tobacco stands, info points, news stands and caffetterie. You have to stamp(validate) your ticket on the bus, tram, trolley or the subway.
BIT : € 1.50 , valid for 100 minutes on any bus after being stamped(validated). For the subway one use only.
ROMA 24 H : € 7.00, valid for 24 hrs from first validation and for unlimited trips.
ROMA 48 H : € 12.50, valid for 48 hrs from first validation and for unlimited trips.
ROMA 72 H : € 18.00, valid for 72 hrs from first validation and for unlimited trips.
CIS: € 24.00, valid for 7 days from first validation and for unlimited trips until midnight of the seventh day.
ROMA PASS 24 H : € 36.00, valid for two days and unlimited trips. It also gives easy access to all kind of museums , galleries, shows and different services for tourists.

One thing to keep in mind: Rome is a big city so stay safe and beware of pickpockets.
