This was the second tour we booked with more of rome and they delivered again. What a great company and great guides! The tour of the ghetto was very interesting, our guide brought the stories to life and went above and beyond to make it more memorable for us. The tour ends in the little square with plenty of small restaurants and the timing is just right so we stayed there for lunch and had some amazing artichokes.

As you tour the Jewish Ghetto you will discover not only a great selection of restaurants, boutiques, artisan shops and ice cream shops, you will also find peace in the very heart of Rome and be transported to the times when the life was simpler and people were warmer. You will learn so much about the Jewish community of Rome, and about more than 2000 years of history of this ancient place.

Adored by the locals, but very often overlooked by the tourists, this little locality off the beaten path offers such magnificent highlights as Marcello’s Theater and Portico D’Ottavia, Piazza Giudea, The Old Synagogue and many more.

The Jewish Ghetto of Rome was originally called the “Enclosure of Jew” where the Jewish population of Rome was forced to live for over 300 years. The life quality and the living conditions were inhuman, but despite all the challenges they had to face, the Jewish community of Rome not only managed to survive, but thrived. New dialect was developed, new traditions were forged and of course, this is the place where Roman Jewish cuisine was born.

Just awesome!
We are so happy we booked with more of rome. Tue guide was passionate and full of stories. We met at piazza venezia, the guide was there on time waiting for us. The group was small so it was really fun and the guide had time to answer all our questions. Was really helpful and attentive.
